Shawn is a founding member of the Partyka ​comics collective, and has been drawing and self-publishing minicomics for more than a decade. His comics have appeared in The Graphic Canon and The Best American Comics. He also contributes to the ongoing collaborative battle comic The Road of Knives. His artwork has also been featured in several gallery shows.

Shawn was born in Taiwan and grew up on Long Island. As a kid he loved the work of Roald Dahl (BFG, Witches, James and the Giant Peach). For a while, when he was really young, his favorite book was an illustrated Chinese translation of White Fang. 

He lives in New York City.

In Cartozia, Shawn might like to visit Upside-Town, but he wouldn't want to live there.​
